Why We Do This?

It has always been a passion of mine to create a safe place where the neurodiverse community can create and explore their own artistic dreams.

It is the mission of Allison Bruning Studios to do just that.

We believe every neurodiverse person has the right to express themselves in art, music, dance, writing, and other form they desire without the world judging them just because they aren’t a neurotypical. We want to give them that safe space to let them be who they were created to be without judgement and celebrate who they truly are.

Why Does It Matter?

Helping the neurodivergent community is personal for me. I was born with high functioning autism. I was nonverbal and learned sign language to communicate until I was first grade when suddenly I spoke my first words. I have been speaking ever since.

Being neurodiverse means you struggle your entire life and need accommodations in order to survive. You have a high IQ but most of the times you can’t express that because the world around you doesn’t understand you! Then on top of those frustrations most neurodivergents, like myself, have to deal with medical issues. I died when I was one from a seizure that caused me memory issues that I continue to deal with today. I was born with Epilepsy, Migraines, Anemia, Hypothyroidism, and other issues.

A neurodivergent needs a neurodivergent to understand them. I care because I want to help the next generation and their parents avoid some of the same issues I went through.
